The City of Key West and Habitat for Humanity, in cooperation with AH Monroe, are offering a Free 6-Week Homeownership Course beginning February 22. This course, which is designed to familiarize local residents with the various options for affordable homeownership in the Lower Keys and help them get prepared to take the first step, was filled within hours of being announced. Due to the large amount of interest, Habitat and the City plan to schedule this course again as soon as they can.
Classes will be Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:30pm, and will the following topics:
Feb. 22: Overview of Affordable Homeownership Opportunities – AH Monroe & Habitat for Humanity
Mar. 1: Budgeting for Homeownership – Maggie Sayer
Mar. 8: How to Build Credit – Gisselle Garcia
Mar. 15: How Mortgages Work – Daunte Aguilar
Mar. 29: HOAs and Closing Costs – Jimmy Lane
Apr. 5: Home Buyer Assistance/SHIP Funds – Marie Brouillette
