Habitat Warehouse

Our new volunteer-run Habitat Warehouse on Rockland Key (MM9) is now open on a limited schedule. Volunteers are needed to help customers, organize, clean, accept donations, stack furniture and building supplies and more.

Construction & Home Repair

Whether you are skilled or not Habitat welcomes you!

Much of our volunteer construction work is repairing homes of income-qualified elderly homeowners.  Sometimes it is making repairs or updates to a Habitat home that is being re-sold to a new Habitat Partner Homeowner. You can expect anything from scraping, patching and painting a house to landscaping.

If you have a special area of expertise, please let us know so we can use your skills to maximum benefit.

Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to work on our construction sites; youth 16-17 must have their parent/guardian sign a Minor Volunteer Application/Release of Liability form before arrival. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to use power tools or climb ladders.

Homeownership Education

Part of our mission at Habitat is to help new and prospective homeowners learn the skills they need to become successful homeowners.

Do you work in the real estate or banking and lending field? Or do you have useful knowledge you could share about building credit, mortgages, budgeting, insurance, conflict resolution or home repair? Sign up to lead a homeowner education session in your area of expertise!

Events & Fundraising

Maybe you have a knack for organization? Or, you love bringing people together to celebrate? Donate your time for planned fundraisers and special events that directly support the work of Habitat of Key West and Lower Florida Keys.

There are plenty of opportunities for you to assist with assembling the capital needed to keep building decent, affordable homes for local families.

Administrative Support

If you have skills in administration, data entry, proofreading, editing, marketing or translation to Spanish or Creole, we can use your help. Our staff always has plenty of tasks to go around!

Join or Chair a Committee

Become involved in shaping our impact on the Lower Keys community by choosing to serve on a committee that matches your interests and/or expertise.

We have different committees that function to help our Board of Directors, including the Construction Committee, the Faith Relations Committee, the Habitat Homeowner Selection Committee and the Development Committee.

Whether your strengths are in fundraising, community relations, real estate, planning or administrative tasks, we could use your help!
