Gay Hall Receives Habitat's 2009 Unsung Hero Award

(Gay logs ReStore donations and does other clerical work in Habitat's Big Pine office).

Volunteers are always needed with construction experience however, Habitat provides most tools and will train on site!

If you do have experience in a trade, please think about coming out and helping to lead a crew of dedicated volunteers!

Volunteers for office help are always appreciated in both the Key West & Big Pine Key offices. Computer skills and general clerical abilities a plus.

Thank you, Richard Puentes for the chili!

Bobalu's Southern Cafe owner, Doug Meeker, accepts a Thank You letter from Key West Habitat for Humanity's Operations Director, Susan K. Miller.  Bobalu's has provided $500 worth of wonderful food for the many volunteers and partner families who have helped at Bayside Landing on Big Coppitt over the past several months.  Habitat also gave Bobalu's staff a fruit basket to further show their appreciation for their generosity.

BAYSIDE LANDING on Big Coppitt is accepting for volunteers! Thursday and Saturdays we welcome volunteers to help our Partner Families complete their homes.  Some of the work we have for you is interior painting and cleaning; installation of toilets, kitchen appliances and fans; building storage rooms downstairs, and yard maintenance. Our work days begin at 8:30 am and end around 3:00 pm.

Remember, you must have a Volunteer Application on file with us and schedule your workday with Anna Symington, Volunteer Coordinator prior to showing up on site.

If you would like to join us on any of these days, please contact the office to arrange your volunteer experience!

STOCK ISLAND APARTMENTS In order to meet the needs of this community Habitat has invested in an apartment building in Stock Island. Once the units are rehabbed, they will be rented to community residents at affordable rates.

Anyone can volunteer to help scrape, paint & clean these apartments for future residents.
